A tenor recitative leads to the centre of the cantata, the chorus Alles nun, das ihr wollet. Its symmetrical writing highlights the Gospel maxim, framing counterpoint with passages of more direct declamation.
The trumpet does not turn the whole work into festive music; it chiefly underlines the central movement and chorale. After a bass recitative, the tenor converses with two oboes d’amore in a flexible aria. The final harmonisation gathers the forces and gives the course a concise conclusion.
For the central chorus, rehearse homophonic blocks and contrapuntal entries separately, then connect them without changing tempo. The alto should preserve a plain line above the strings. In the tenor aria, balance both oboes d’amore as genuine partners and place consonants upon their shared articulation.
