Ich bin vergnügt mit meinem Glücke is built around a solo soprano. In the first aria, the oboe unfolds a flexible line above strings and continuo, and the voice joins it without seeking virtuoso brilliance. Serenity depends on the ensemble’s regular motion.
A recitative leads to the second aria, where obbligato violin becomes the soprano’s principal partner. After another recitative, the final chorale introduces four voices only for the close. The cantata therefore has no independent opening chorus.
Soprano and oboe should agree breaths and cadences in the opening. Violin and voice must fix the articulation of the second aria together. Keep recitatives direct and the final chorale plain so its change of forces remains audible.
