About this work
This collection contains three different texts: two cadenzas for the first movement and one for the third. The first two develop material from the Allegro moderato with contrasting proportions and densities; the last needs to retain the Rondo’s rhythmic momentum.
Before choosing, compare the harmonic route, the space given to silences and the way each cadenza prepares the orchestra’s return. A longer option may explore motifs more deeply, but it also alters the movement’s overall balance.
Practise chords, trills and runs from their points of arrival. In the finale cadenza, keep the Vivace perceptible beneath the solo freedom. For all three, rehearse the connection into the following orchestral bar in order to adjust duration, dynamics and breath.
