About this work

La Babillarde strings together short replies: a flourish jumps into the upper register, a few chords interrupt it, and the flow resumes elsewhere on the keyboard. Its talkative character comes from these quick changes, not from a rushed tempo. The semiquavers therefore benefit from staying close to the keys.
Let the motifs speak without rushing
First play the right-hand bursts while aiming for their final note, then place the left-hand punctuations separately. When the hands come together, keep a real silence between gestures instead of clipping it. At each repeat, change the weight or direction of the phrase rather than the tempo.
