25 Easy Studies, Op. 100: La Candeur

About this work

At the opening of Op. 100, Burgmüller hides a singing line inside a stream of C-major semiquavers. Sustained left-hand chords later give way to more mobile writing. Speed is not the main challenge: the top of each group must emerge without making the other fingers stiff.
Keep the motion rounded
Practise the right hand in one-beat groups, releasing the wrist at every change of position. Add the bass, then the chords. The repeats are useful checkpoints: the pattern should remain even as the harmony changes and the dynamic grows.
Bas Wassink engraved this edition from the Collection Litolff source; the Mutopia Project distributes it in the public domain. The PDF fits on one page and retains the fingering, repeats, dynamics and articulation. Its MIDI makes the exchanges between both hands easy to locate before exploring more piano scores on LesPartitions.info.
