La Chasse is an Allegro vivace in C major and 6/8, launched by an upbeat. Repeated chords, calls, runs and quick shifts create a highly rhythmic scene. The two broad pulses must remain audible beneath the many notes; counting six small beats would make the piece heavy and drain its momentum.

Repeated episodes contrast several textures: firm chords, lighter replies, scales and passages in a lower register. Accents mark specific calls rather than permanent tension. Between them, the wrist must release to prepare the next shift and preserve dynamic contrast.

Practise repeated chords in short groups, releasing the forearm after each impulse. Isolate the runs and settle their fingering. Combine the materials while counting two beats per bar, initially without pedal. At a reduced tempo, look ahead to each new register; speed will come from a prepared route rather than extra force.
