The first of the 25 Easy Studies, Op. 100, La Candeur sets an Allegro moderato in C major and 4/4. The right hand unfolds groups of semiquavers beneath a connected upper line while the left supplies harmony through chords and bass notes. Speed is not the main point: the gesture must remain rounded and even as the pattern changes position.

Repeats and replies between registers give this short form a clear direction. Dynamics grow from piano to forte and recede without disturbing the pulse. The top note of each group should remain audible without an added accent; it comes from finger balance rather than a harder attack.

Practise the right hand slowly, grouping semiquavers by beat and releasing the wrist between positions. Add the bass alone, then the chords, before joining the hands without pedal. Very short pedal changes may later follow the harmony, provided that articulation and rests remain clear.
