About this work
Chopin's Prelude Op. 28 No. 15 is often called the “Raindrop”, a nickname that does not replace its number within the collection. The score offered here contains this prelude for piano alone.
The PDF has 4 pages. The first is marked Sostenuto and presents the edition as the fifteenth prelude of Opus 28. A separate MIDI file is available for following the overall form.
Do not turn the repeated note into an audible metronome: its colour should change with the harmony and remain beneath the singing line. In the central section, keep the chords broad without crushing the rhythm. Practise returns of the melody with renewed pedal rather than a continuous haze. The historical notice attributes the file to the Mutopia project.
