This C-major Allegretto in 6/8 moves through a two-beat sway. Primo’s connected arpeggios trace a light line while Secondo places a simple bass and completes the harmony. The music grows denser when repeated chords replace the opening curves, but its character must not turn into a march: the motion still depends on the flexibility of 6/8.

The first repeat presents and extends the arpeggio motif. The second brings stronger changes of register and dynamics, including forte passages in which both players fill more of the sound. A piano release then restores the singing gesture. Contrast is therefore made by texture as much as by dynamics: a connected line, compact chords, and a return to more open writing.

Count the two pulses in each bar rather than all six quavers. Primo can group each arpeggio towards its highest note while Secondo keeps the bass flexible and avoids prolonging chords with pedal. In forte passages, find the shared chord before adding volume. The repeat should recover exactly the same sway after the more compact section; if it seems slower, the chords have probably acquired too much weight.
