About this work

The heading Alla turca. Allegro introduces a C-major piece in 4/4 built on accents and contrasts. Secondo lays down repeated chords, detached bass notes and short rising figures. Primo replies with octave motifs, likewise punctuated by rests and accents. The effect comes from clear articulation and collective energy, not from uniform volume or a rushed tempo.

Two broad repeats organise the firmly squared writing. The opening fortissimo motifs receive lighter replies; the second section introduces a piano passage before rebuilding the stronger sonority. Melodic fragments circulate between the parts, after which both players meet in similar chords and rhythms. Rests maintain tension and should remain clean, without lingering resonance that obscures the next attack.

Practise fortissimo chords with a short movement and relaxed shoulders. Secondo can isolate the bass notes to ensure that they guide the rhythm without anticipating. Primo should prepare octaves during the rests instead of stiffening the hand. Then rehearse forte-piano oppositions without changing tempo. The piece retains its character when accents are ranked: a few structural stresses shape the phrase, while the remaining notes stay mobile.
