About this work

The first Minuet in F major and 3/8 begins with a quaver upbeat and immediately unfolds arpeggiated figures among upper line, inner voices and bass. Allegretto gives it lively motion without erasing the three beats. The texture appears uniform, yet every bar slightly redistributes the figure and requires careful coordination.

Both sections are repeated. The first establishes regular sway; the second moves the figures, thickens the chords and gradually returns to the home key. Sustained notes are sometimes hidden among quicker values and need their full duration. The final cadence gains stability when the bass is directed towards its last point of support rather than played note by note.

First reduce every bar to its upper note and bass, then restore the arpeggios. Practise the upbeat together with the following downbeat to prevent an early accent. Where the hands share one figure, aim for identical touch and length across the transfer. Keep the repeats and check that the second half does not accelerate simply because its figures have become more familiar.
