The Easy Winners begins in A-flat major and 2/4 under the direction Not Fast. A descending right-hand figure answers the alternating bass, then moves and changes register. The writing appears light, but these handovers require exact preparation: the final notes of a run need to lead into the next chord without producing a gap or an unintended accent.
Several repeated strains develop these exchanges before a section in D-flat major. The score combines rapid runs, syncopated chords and changes of position; a written fingering in one passage underlines that continuity depends on the hand’s route as much as finger speed. Each episode has its own pattern, while the left hand maintains a stable reference through the transformations.
