About this work

Duet no. 12, K. 487 closes the collection with an Allegro in which stepwise motion, repeated notes and quick changes of direction pass from one horn to the other. A brief Andante section relaxes the movement before the return and final cadence.
Make the contrast clear without breaking the momentum
Practise the articulations as mirror images so that each relay sounds like the continuation of one gesture. The lower part should retain its energy in repeated motifs without covering the upper line. Keep a shared pulse and note length through the repeats.
Prepare the entrance of the Andante and the return of the Allegro together. The contrast should be immediate, while the overall course remains continuous and easy to follow. The PDF fits on one page with repeats, endings and grace notes; the MIDI file guides the complete sequence.
