About this work
Symphony K.132 in E-flat major is organised in four movements. The Allegro contrasts broad orchestral chords with more mobile figures and varies the balance between strings and winds. Returns broaden the path without sacrificing clear cadences.
The Andante favours sustained lines; Mozart also left an alternative slow movement, preserved in the appendix to the Neue Mozart-Ausgabe but absent from this PDF. The Menuetto with Trio prepares a lively final Allegro rich in exchanges and changes of register.
In the first movement, give repeated sequences a direction rather than playing them as identical blocks. The Andante requires close listening to the inner parts. For the Menuetto and finale, coordinate upbeats and releases: transitions must remain clear even as the activity increases.
