About this work
Symphony K.182 in B-flat major condenses its argument into three short movements. The Allegro spiritoso alternates collective calls with lighter answers, driven by the strings while the winds reinforce changes of phrase.
The Andantino grazioso opens a more singing interlude and lightens the texture. The final Allegro takes brief cells, moves them between registers and quickly leads the orchestra towards firm cadences without seeking the broad developments of later symphonies.
Distinguish calls from their answers in the first movement. The Andantino needs a present but discreet bass and shared breathing. In the finale, rehearse changes of register at a moderate tempo: clear exchanges will provide more momentum than premature acceleration.
