The Children’s March D.928 is a piano-four-hands piece. A short call launches the march before the partners exchange melody, repeated chords and small rising replies between Secondo and Primo.
The Trio lightens the accompaniment and extends the lines. After that release, the instruction Marcia da Capo senza repetizione returns to the opening without repeating every section a second time.
Agree on note lengths and the precision of attacks before adding tempo. Secondo should provide a firm foundation without hardening the chords while Primo projects the replies. In the Trio, both players should reduce weight and dynamics together.
