About this work
The Piano Sonata in E-flat major D.568 revises and expands an earlier version in D-flat. The document presents the four-movement second version, whose opening Allegro moderato combines a supple line, rapid accompaniment and broad chords.
The Andante molto in G minor darkens the course, then the Menuetto contrasts a clear frame with a more relaxed Trio. The final Allegro moderato regains light mobility and circulates its motifs between registers.
Keep accompaniment figures beneath the principal line and prepare broad hand spans. Reserve a denser colour for the slow movement, articulate the Menuetto without stiffness and shape the finale in long directions.
