This PDF resumes the finale where Part 04.1 ends; it is not a fifth movement. The turmoil of the Allegro con fuoco continues before the motive associated with Manfred reappears within an increasingly expansive orchestration. These returns give the ending the function of a recapitulation as well as a resolution.

After the final confrontations, the writing adopts a profoundly different perspective. An organ joins the orchestra and supports a slower conclusion in which broad chords gradually replace the urgent figures. This religious apotheosis does not erase the preceding tensions: it places them in a new sonority and leads towards a monumental close.

Rehearsal should begin before the division between the two files so that the real continuity of tempo and dynamics can be checked. In this second half, the large masses require a very clear bass and shared breathing. The organ’s entry will be more striking if the orchestra has preserved dynamic stages instead of maintaining maximum volume throughout.
