About this work
Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen brings solo soprano, trumpet, strings and continuo together in a brilliantly virtuosic opening. Voice and trumpet answer one another through long coloratura and fanfare motifs, but the soprano line remains carried by the string ritornello. Balance matters more than speed alone.
The accompanied recitative leads to a slower aria where the soprano sustains long phrases above a calm instrumental fabric. An ornamented chorale then places the voice within a familiar melody before the final Alleluia. This lively fugue restores the trumpet and concludes without a collective choir.
Rehearse soprano coloratura and trumpet calls separately, then fix their meeting points. In the slow aria, plan breath from the bass line. The chorale must remain recognisable beneath ornamentation. In the Alleluia, prioritise even notes and clean entries before increasing tempo.
